Early Learning Storytimes & Workshops


Adzooks Puppets The Tortoise and the Hare
Experience the excitement of live puppet theater in this original retelling of the classic Aesop's tale by Adzooks Puppets. Cheer on the Tortoise and the Hare as they learn that there are no losers when it comes to friendship. See our schedule and register here.

Arts Play - Yes You Can Can
Stimulate your child’s curiosity with this art-based play workshop focusing on the senses with Amaunnet Ashe, from Arts for Learning Indiana. Multi-sensory fun includes singing, movement, and storytelling. The class is designed for children 0-3 and their caregiver. See our schedule and register here.

Drumming with Syllables
Preschoolers ages 3 - 6 and an adult are invited to experiment with words, syllables, and articulation to create their own patterns of sounds. They'll learn about rhythm, patterns and rhymes, and sing songs. This program will be led by Arts for Learning teaching artist Lawrence Clark III. See our schedule and register here.

Fruit and Veggie Yoga
Can you stretch like a carrot? Or bend like a banana? Enjoy a story and learn yoga poses based on fruits and veggies. We will follow up with a healthy fruit or veggie snack. Presented by the Marion County Health Department. See our schedule and register here.

Talking Hands - ASL 101
Children 0-3 and their caregiver are invited to explore American Sign Language in this workshop led by Luna Language Services. Enjoy this amazing opportunity to learn ASL and enrich the communication between you and your children at home! See our schedule and register here.

Paws to Read
Children who are reluctant readers are invited to read to Dandy, a Goldendoodle. This activity can help young ones improve their reading skills and self-confidence. Participants may sign-up for a 15-minute reading sessions.

These one hour concerts are a family-friendly series of jazz concerts featuring Indy's leading jazz musicians, held in the Clowes Auditorium at Central Library. Online After School Playdate: Kids Coding Club
Kids ages 8 and older and teens can join the Learning Curve online to learn about the Scratch programming language and work on a coding project. Grab your tennis shoes and get ready to move! Play games and learn fitness skills through yoga, gymnastics, cardio, and strength training with Myriad Health + Fitness. For ages 6 and up. See our schedule and register here.

Build Your Own Movie Machine with Jeremy South
Discover the magic of animation by creating your own zoetrope! A forerunner to the modern movie, a zoetrope creates the illusion of motion from a series of individual pictures. West Perry Steam Team and Steam Team Trivia
Come explore with technology, science experiments, engineering, and more with STEAM Team! School age children (6 and up) and a caregiver will learn about each month's theme, then take part in a follow-up experiment. On Trivia days come out and test your knowledge!
